The Annual Council 1 Brunch awaits us this weekend! See you at the Avalon Banquet Center on Rt. 30 in Merrillville. Come meet Alpha Epsilon State President Ina Van Duyn and purchase Society goodies from Conni Harrison, Alpha Epsilon State Special Projects Chairman.

Alpha Epsilon State Convention will be April 18-19, 2009, at South Bend Marriott. Registration forms are on the state's website as well as in your December Hoosier Newsetter. Deadline is mid-March.

Sigma sisters, please remember that we will honor any members who will be retiring at our May meeting. If you are retiring or know of a member planning to retire at the end of this school year, please contact Pat Jaracz so that you may be honored.

Also, this spring Sigma Chapter will give a $500-Grant-in-Aid of a young woman currently pursuing an educational degree at a Lake County college or university. To qualify, the applicant should also be a resident of Lake County, Indiana. Contact Pat Jaracz or the webmaster for more information.

Look forward to July 22-26, 2009, when we will join sisters to enjoy the Northeast Regional Conference in Burlington, VT.

The 2010 will occur in Spokane, WA, followed the next year by the Northeast Regional Conference in Hershey, PA.  Looking forward, the 2014 International Conference will be hosted by Indiana.

As a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, you are welcome to attend any meeting throughout the world!

This biennium will find Sigma Chapter issuing our biennial Grant-in-Aide. If you know of a junior or senior woman studying education at one of the local colleges, do recommend her.

Yearbooks will be available at the September meeting. Our newsletter will now be kept on this website as well as emailed to you.
