What he Does
Glaziers today do a multitude of different
duties, from windshields to mirrors, installing all types of aluminum store
fronts to multi-story curtain walls, installation of panic hardware, closers,
locks and anything to do with aluminum doors. You will learn to cut and install
all types of glass, including shower doors and glass handrails. Basically
anything related to glass and aluminum frames.
Working Conditions
Glaziers often work outdoors, sometimes
in inclement weather. Their work can, at times, result in injuries as they work
with sharp tools and may need to remove broken glass. They must be prepared to
lift heavy glass panels and work on scaffolding, sometimes at great heights.
Glaziers do a considerable amount of bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing
during the installation process. |
