What He Does
The field of
construction Boilermaker is a highly trained, skilled
craftsman who Erects and maintains pressure vessels of
all sizes. Included in the work a Construction
Boilermaker is the erection and repair of boilers, blast
furnaces, all types of pressure vessels and tanks in
connection with steel mills, refineries, and chemical
plants, power plants, and nuclear reactors and many
other types of working the plate fabrication and
pressure vessel category.
Working
Conditions
Boilermakers
perform their work primary in heavy industry, often
times requiring Journeymen and Apprentices to travel to
job sites where living away from home is necessary.
Boilermakers are also an "On Demand" craft since
industry runs 24 hours a day, it is not unusual for
Boilermakers to be dispatched to jobsites during the
night or weekend for emergencies. |

General Qualifications
- Age - Minimum age is 18
Years old
- Have the legal right to
live and work in the United States
- Good Physical Condition
- must be able to perform the work of the trade.
Admission Requirements of
the Joint Apprenticeship Committee
- Birth Certificate
- High School Diploma or
Equivalent
- Previous weld
certification - not required but recommended.
