Robert O. Greer

Born 1944 in Columbus, Ohio and spent his formative years in Gary, Indiana.
Mystery novelist, surgical pathologist, and educator. University of Colorado Health Services Center, professor of pathology, medicine, surgery, and dentistry.  Attended Roosevelt High School and lived across the street from The Delany Housing Project. His father was a principal at Pulaski Junior High and later Edison High School. 
He is the author of the CJ Floyd mystery series, "The Devil's Hatband", "The Devil's Red Nickel", and "The Devil's Backbone; a collection of short stories", "Isolation and Other Stories" and two medical thrillers, "Limited Time" and "Heat Shock". The film rights to The Devil's Red Nickel were optioned for an HBO movie. His short stories have appeared in numerous national literary magazines and two recent short story anthologies showcasing western fiction. He also edits the High Plains Literary Review, reviews books for National Public Radio, and raises Black Baldy cattle on his ranch near Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
