LakeNET - Mark Alan Mulder

Professional baseball player, left handed pitcher who started with the Oakland A's in 2001 and has was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2004. Graduated from Thornwood High School (South Holland, Ill.) in 1995 and attended Michigan State University. Mr. Mulder was named team MVP in 1997 and 1998 and All-Big 10 selection as a sophomore after going 7-2 with four saves, finished second in the league with a 2.26 ERA and earned All-Big 10 honors. Led American League in wins in 2001 (21) and American League All-Star, 2003 and 2004. Mulder re-signed with the St. Louis Cardinals on January 10, 2007 to a two-year $13 million contract, with performance-based incentives and a club option that could take the deal to three years at a possible $45 million.
