Jim Bradley

Born March 16, 1952 in East Chicago, Indiana.
Died February 20, 1982 in Portland, Oregon.
Jim Bradley graduated from EC Roosevelt High School 1970 after leading them to the Indiana High School Association state title as a prep senior.  He was regarded as the best men's basketball player in Northern Illinois University history, possessing incredible backcourt skills.  The Huskies had back-to-back  21-4 and 17-8 seasons with Bradley on board.  He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 3rd round (12th pick) of the 1974 NBA draft.  He was compared to "Magic Johnson" and Julius Erving by Artis Gilmore and Dan Issel.  Unfortunately, his true talent was never realized.  Bradley lacked "personal discipline which sent him on an odessey through the ABA, NBA, Continental Basketball Association, France and back to the Portland Trailblazers".  On February 20, 1982, his dead body was found in an alley in Portland.  He died of a gun shot wound.  To this day, the case remains unsolved.
