Mr. Shepherd was a writer, humorist, satirist, actor, radio raconteur, TV & film personality. He lived at 2907 Cleveland Street in Hammond and attended Harding Elementary School, in the Hessville section of the city. Later he graduated from Hammond High School in 1939. He is most famous for the film "A Christmas Story" which he co-wrote and narrated in 1983.
