Ernest Lisle Reedstrom

Born December 8, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois.
Raised in Central Illinois and was a long time resident of Cedar Lake, Indiana.
Died March 11, 2003.
Historical author and illustrator of numerous books including Custer's 7th Cavalry: From Fort Riley to the Little Big Horn, Scrapbook of the American West, Bugles, Banners and War Bonnets, The Apache Wars, Authentic Costumes and Characters of the Wild West and Historic Dress of the Old West. Mr. Reedstrom was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, U.S. Army, with the original M.A.S.H. Unit. He graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago and attended Tempe University in Tempe, AZ. Mr. Reedstrom came from a diverse background which included training at numerous art schools, he was a miner in Arizona and a ranch handyman, a freelance illustrator, artist, and curator of the John Dillinger Museum in Crown Point from 1976-1979. He was a member of American Legion, Crown Point Post #20. 
He did many freelance illustrations for Gun Digest magazine.
