 Dianne Durham is black America's first internationally ranked female gymnast. Born in Gary, Indiana Diane was considered one of the most talented gymnasts in her time. During her era, her mother who traveled and counseled her and Coach Bela Karolyi, helped Durham set a new stage for not just black gymnasts, but all gymnast. With this kind of support and work ethics, she was the first black gymnast to achieve prominence at an early age. From that early age, Dianne went on to capture records, memories, and history that will always portray her as an outstanding athlete. She ran her own gym in Chicago for 17 years and judges gymnastic competitions.
