Who We Are Human Services is a not for profit community organization whose sole purpose is to provide supportive services to the residents of the Lake County Area. Our staff, administrators, and volunteers provide Community Support Services such as :
Services Additional Services | Employment Services | Shelter Services | Network | Rules To receive transportation to a job interview, you must have some kind of documentation from : a. The Employer b. The Employment Agency c. Indiana Workforce Development Office (Work One) This documentation must state your starting time, location , etc. To receive transportation to work, you must have documentation referring to the location, starting time, supervisor and rate of pay, and payday. Human Services will transport the employee until they receive their first paycheck. The maximum number of miles to work are 30 miles combined. That means 15 miles to work and 15 miles returning home. All transportation request must be made within 48 hours of date (employment only). Human Services will provide transportation to shelters within a 15 mile radius, providing the following provisions are met: I. The person requesting shelter has made arrangements for an available bed. II. The shelter has notified Human Services to confirm or request transportation in that person’s behalf. Human Services will pick up and transport persons to and from: Human Services reserves the right to deny services for reasons as follows: A. Violence or threats of violence against a worker or another person. B. Carrying or concealment of prohibited drugs or alcohol. C. Carrying or use of firearm or other dangerous weapons. D. Abuse of services or abusive language or behavior. Human Services grows out from the philosophy of maximizing existing resources such as:
As a Result.. These working relations will provide entrees to develop the Outreach Component. Human Services represents a systematic continuation of our subsequent efforts to establish a diversified continuum of services and the vision to reallocate existing resources to meet the needs of our community. Transport persons to local hospitals and clinics for scheduled appointments, tests and examinations. Transport persons to / from Lake County Court House in Crown Point (victims of crimes only). Transport seniors , handicap and disabled persons to shopping malls and grocery stores. Advocate in behalf sexual assault , domestic violence victims. Advocate in behalf of neglected and abused seniors and children. Advocate and encouraged independent living for the handicapped.
