About Us

Welcome To HI-Rail Modular Train Club!

The Hi-Rail Modular Train Club was established in 2002. Our members are train enthusiasts who enjoy the realistic look of Hi-Rail 'O' scale railroad equipment and structures. With each member’s module and equipment, we create a realistic layout up to 25’ x 60’. Pictures and videos can be viewed in our Gallery section. Members are responsible for their own modules and equipment, and take pride in the clubs display and operation. We hope to educate the public about what we think is a great hobby and also about the role railroads play in America’s history and everyday life.

Our club members enjoy putting on public shows and demonstrations in the South Suburban Chicago and Northwest Indiana areas. We try to present something new and exciting at each show. A schedule of our shows can be found on our Events page. Admission is free at most shows. We invite you, your family, and/or friends to come and enjoy the smoke, sounds, excitement and realism of our modular train show.

One of the new and exciting additions to this past year’s shows was the “burning building”. There was smoke rising from the building, and water shooting from a fireman’s hose. Next year, we are planning to add working signals, more modules, and maybe some of your suggestions.

We occasionally admit new club members and/or sponsors who have an interest in Hi-Rail scale trains. We also have a “weekend runner” plan for those that would like to run their scale trains but are not ready to commit to a full membership. If you are part of an organization and have a large space available, 35’ x 70’, you may want to host a show. If you are, or think you may be interested in joining, or hosting a show, please come see us at one of our many Events, or contact our Webmaster. Just click on Webmaster to email any comments, interests and/or suggestions. would be greatly appreciated

The Hi-Rail Modular Train Club meets on the first Monday of every month at the Franklin Center, 201 N Griffith Blvd, IN 46319 Membership dues vary from year to year based on the clubs improvements, donations and sponsorships.
The Hi-Rail Modular Train Club thanks you for your continuing support!
