Ghoulies and Ghosties and Long-leggedy Beasties

… are coming to Griffith thanks to Griffith High School business teacher Thom Howell and his senior marketing class.
Mr. Howell and his students will work with the Griffith Historical Society to create Haunted Rails at the Griffith Historical Park the weekend of October 27, 28 & 29th, from 5 to 9 p.m.
The students will use the Park’s facilities, including the Depot and railcars, to create a haunted-house experience that will be geared to middle-elementary-school kids who want to be scared, but not terrified.  Students from the art and drama departments will also be involved in the project, along with students from the advanced computer classes.
“It’ll be sort of a starter haunted house,” explains Historical Society vice president, Karen Kulinski, who’s coordinating the project.  “With the emphasis on fun along with fear.”

The Historical Society envisions Haunted Rails as a community-wide project and has invited Griffith community organizations to participate.

“Organizations can set up booths at no cost at the Historical Park and sell hot dogs, pop, hot cider, caramel apples, elephant ears, whatever they like,” explains Kulinski.  “Or they can do face-painting or have kids’ games or activities.  Whatever an organization makes is theirs to keep.”
For more information, or if you want to help, contact Karen Kulinski, at 924-9019.
