Recreation Parks/Recreation Areas Porter County Dunn's Bridge County Park
Three-acre Dunn's Bridge County Park offers the only boat access to the Kankakee River in Porter County. The Kankakee watershed covers some 3,000 square miles that were once predominantly marshlands. Though the river has been extensively dredged and straightened and its surrounding wetlands drained, it is still very scenic and shelters abundant wildlife. It's a great place to canoe, kayak, watch wildlife from the riverbank, or fish from a small motorboat.
