-The supervision of offenders is the most resource-intensive and publicly visible service provided by the Indiana Department of Correction. Parole agents are the system's most visible representatives.
-Agents exercise their authority statutorily using skills from various disciplines to monitor, control, and correct offender behavior. Agents utilize both the investigative skills of law enforcement and the treatment and service-delivery skills of social workers.
-The goal in all cases is the successful completion of the term of supervision, during which the offender commits no new crimes, is held accountable for the victim, family, community, and other court-imposed responsibilities, and is prepared for continued success.
