Housing Housing Authorities Hammond Housing Authority
The Hammond Housing Authority (HHA) provides homes for low-income families and individuals. Those who meet income requirements are selected in accordance with the Hammond Housing Authority Occupancy Policy. There is no discrimination against people of any race, sex, color, or religion, and rent is partially subsidized by the federal government.

-Rent is based on 30% income.
-Preference given to Hammond residents.
-About 458 low-rent, public housing units; 639 units of rental, voucher assistance.
-Visual alarms for hearing impaired; dwelling units modified as needed.
-Housing counseling (foreclosure, pre-purchase).
-There is a wait list for all programs.
-Speakers available.
-Families and individuals, disabled, elderly or over age 50 (for senior building). Must meet income guidelines.
